Day 117, originally uploaded by jogger164.

Monday sure came around fast :-(

But on the plus side of things the weather seems to be sticking in 'Warm' mode. Lovely.

Managed to get some miles in as well - 6 in all. I think that's going to be it for this month for my mileage, hoping to ramp up the training next month to get me in shape for the Robin Hood. I'm planning to put in 13 miles every Sunday so the final 1/2 marathon won't be a shocker.

The day of rest - yeah right!

Wow! it's been a very busy day today.

Got up and cut the lawns just in-case the weather changed to rain mode again.

Headed out to the local HUGE sports shop and Ikea to get a jacket and some shelves and storage units. Came home and put everything up.

Had to trim the neighbours trees (he never ever does them...right pain in the arse!) then get rid of all the tree bits... my RSI is killing me now :-(

Got back and framed them can pictures I did a while ago.

Then headed out for a cheeky relaxing summer evening 4miles - I took some pictures on the way (see here). I love the UK countryside when the summer finally shows its face.

Now time to relax.

We watched last Ghost Rider and The Number 23 last night - both are quite cool.

A big thanks to Rae who is sorting me a custom Hotwheels :-D sweet!

Star Wars toy porn.

AtAt, originally uploaded by jogger164.

Forgive me for being a geek but man have the small person and I had a great afternoon.

Mrs JB had been ill all day - so I took funsize out to a car boot sale (not sure if you have these in the US). As we walked in to the sale we came across a treasure trove of Star Wars goodies.

Since watching all the films we had talked about looking out for some old toys - and boy did we get some today (check out the photos on flickr).

And what's more they were as cheap as chips :-D sweet!

Surprise, surprise

Some idiot around here must have been listening to all the chicken banter going on in blog world and thought it would be a good idea to have some in their garden. Ok for hens - but they went for the junior farmer pack which included a rooster! 4.00am this morning he decided it was time to wake his girls up and us as well... I think I may have to find out who has him and liberate him one morning.

So after trying to fall back to sleep for another hour I got up and went for a run. 6 miles in the morning sun - Bliss.

When I got home the small person was waiting dressed in her running kit with her trainers on :-D So we headed out together and did 2 miles. She has really improved with her running and nearly did a mile before walking for a bit. I don't like pushing her to hard as her asthma plays up sometimes.

I also took her to see some cheeky horses that have been put in a field at the bottom of the village - she loved 'em, and they seem to love her. We are going to head out again tomorrow - looks like I have a new running partner :-D

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Sorry...

...No running today :-( no time for lunch and no time to run. Taking a holiday is way busy. The week before I left I had to work like a nutter because I was going away - now I'm back I have to catch up and work like a double nutter.

I will try and get up and spank a 10 miler before work tomorrow (TFIF).

Count down has really started bigtime in the Joggerblogger household for our next trip to Florida... I can't wait! It's going to rock.

Next week sees the start of Prestons big Trainathon month - He has got to get his butt in gear only 5 weeks to the Robin Hood. How's the knee JogBlog? hope you can run with us :-)

Run, run as fast as you can...

Well the first run back with Preston today - he did 4 and I did 5 (had to do an extra loop because one of the showers is busted). Don't faint the weather has been pretty sunny up here. I feel really sorry for everyone who is flooded out :-( driving home up the M5 on Saturday was an eye opener.

The small person smiled when I showed her your comments :-) she says she will write a report from our upcoming Zoo trip.

The Ps 'I saw a man nearly die' was true. On holiday we sat eating a meal when some chap started choking on a slice of pizza, his partner started screaming for help and a waitress went over - but panicked and started screaming as well. The floor manager came over and shouted 'will everyone just f*cking calm down' as he picked the bloke up and gave him the old heimlich maneuver - popping a pizza crust across the room. Remember kids always chew your food :-D

Guest post from the small person

The small person wanted to write a post on the blog about our holiday, so here it is.

'I went to Devon for the first week of the holiday. It took us 4 hours and 20 minutes to get there. When I was there it was very hot. As soon as we were there we got our keys and got in to our caravan. I was very excited. My caravan was just behind a cliff. At night I could see a village and when the lights were on it looked beautiful. There was a beach in front of the village. The sea was beautiful. I kept playing on the 2p machines. I had some gorgeous meals. I went to 1 fencing class!!! And I went swimming. My caravan was close to the clubhouse so I walked to it so I was helping the environment. I went on aqua jets - how did they put my swimming cap on? They filled the swimming cap with water and then dropped it on my head. It was horrible. I did a surfing lesson it was very good. I could get tickets from the games. I collected more than 300 tickets. I had loads of fun. Now I want to hear all about your holiday'.

PS I saw a man nearly die!!

PPS - No running for me today - work was soooooo busy :-( running tomorrow though.

We're back Jack...

:-( back to the real world.

The holiday was ACE! the weather was a bit off and on (but so is the whole the UKs) but all in all a brilliant time was had.

Most days consisted of swimming, playing on the beach, flying kites, snorkelling and more swimming. The small person also had fencing, aqua jet and surfing lessons.

I managed to get a run done everyday. The thing with running at the coast you always seem to be running up hill - all good training for the RobinHood. I ran 38 miles over the week.So I need to get my ass in gear to get the mileage up like last month.

I will post some pictures up, but I can't seem to find the cable (it's probably hidden in a suitcase).

Today has been busy. After a our long drive back (The M5 had been shut due to flooding) the small person wanted the holiday to carry on. So I got up and did 10 miles, then we went swimming and ice skating.

I'm looking forward to catching up with what you guys have been up to :-)

Lardathon™ 13

Well having the day off running and buying new trainers was the best idea that I've had in ages :-) so nernerner! to jogblog for calling me a wimp for buying new trainers ;-)

Managed a smoooooth 5 miles (man I love new trainers) in the pouring rain.

Today was my last day of work for a week :-D ya me! (how comes it's always a hard rush on the last day) - we are heading down to the south coast for a week of family fun. Hopefully the god of surf will send us a lovely low pressure system to give us some cheeky waves to play on - if not there's always the 2p machines and a bag of chips :-)

So unless I get my butt out early for a run and a post tomorrow - see ya all in a week. Have a great one. See ya!

Ps the small person had already packed for the holiday the above photo is proof.

Food today = Rice cakes - nearly time for dinner...

New trainers (Day 108), originally uploaded by jogger164.

No running for me today. My knee has started to hurt over the last week - I blame my trainers, I've had them for about 7 months and I reckon that I've done over 600 miles in them.

So instead of running today I headed out to a quality little running shop near work. I had never visited the shop before but it was amazing :-) They also had 2 pairs of my favourite trainers in the world in stock.

I struck a cheeky deal and got £30 off for buying 2 pairs :-)

I decided not run and give the knee a rest - hopefully I'll slap in a cheeky 8 miles before work in the morning...

Food today = few potatoes, chicken and carrots, rice cakes .

Lardathon™ 11

Hi all - Not sure what it is but I'm struggling to catch my breath out running at the moment. So I made the effort to run without my iPod to hear what was going on. I think it's just the bad air quality around here at the moment, my breathing was fine - just loving the lung burning sensation. Hopefully it will pass soon - or I may have to get out of bed at stupid o'clock to run.

Thanks for all the comments on yesterdays post :-D glad I helping to keep people jogging, As do all of you guys for posting and commenting.

Cheers.

Lardathon™ Day 9

Well after a weekend off I made sure that I packed a pair of trainers so that I could head off for some miles. And miles I got in the form of a cheeky little 6 miler. Loved it!

Someone even switched the sun on (apart from the last mile when it rained). I think I need to get a new pair of trainers soon - I must have done 500-600 miles in these (the downside of running more).

I need to start some proper miles soon, can't slack off Juneathon has left me wanting more.

Food today = Rice cakes, Chicken salad - glass of red.

Hi :-)

Just back from the great escape 2007.

Had a fantastic chilled out time - I can't believe that we have been together so long (and are still best mates).

A little naughty on the Lardathon stakes - Had 2 lovely breakfasts and a cheeky dinner... back on track tomorrow.

How did the running go I hear you ask... Well I decided to have yesterday off and get up for a 10 miler this morning. So I Quietly got ready in the pitch black this morning at 6.45am (as not to wake my lovely wife).

I amazed myself with the stealth like ninja mode I was pulling off. I slipped my feet into my trainers and thought 'eww these feel odd, must be because I got them flooded running in the river water for 2 weeks). I made my way out of the room after even managing to find my iPod in the gloom.

I slid out into the hotel corridor and silently shut the door behind me. Looking down at my uncomfortable shoes I let out a 'Doohhh!" 2 left shoes, I'd only packed 2 bl**dy left shoes (that will teach me to always buy the same shoes) :-D The God of Jog had spoken no run for me this weekend - sorry - I promise to do 6 miles tomorrow to make up for it.

But to make matters worse, I was fully awake at 6.45am on a Sunday in a hotel...ekk!

I sneaked back into the room - ran a bath and read this months edition of "Empire" cover to cover, a what a great read - Transformers, blade runner and Gary Oldman - highly recommended.

Hope everyone is has had a great weekend. Bobbing about in the pool and chatting today we talked about meeting you guys, can't wait. :-D

See ya.

No running for me today...

We are going away for our anniversary this weekend - so no running tonight. I'm packing my running kit and will hop on the hotel treadmill for a few miles sometime.

See you all on Monday (unless the hotel has broadband)

Food today = Nothing to report yet - but I imagine some hotel food and breakfasts are heading my way over the next 2 days (that's why I've been so strict all week).

PLEASE WILL SOMEONE STOP IT RAINING - I like running in the rain but this is stupid, yet another wet 5 miles... It's hard to get out of the door when it's chucking it down outside.

I'm not feeling 100% hope everyone is feeling chipper :-P

Food today = Rice cakes, some I can't believe it's not wheat home made pizza - and a cheeky glass of red.

Lardathon™ Day 4

First off, happy 4th July to all the readers from across the pond - hope that you have all had a good day (do you get a national holiday day?).

And also a big happy anninversary to me :-) Thanks Jogblog for the reminder this morning that it's my 2nd full year of running - see here. The last year has flown past - roll on the next 12 months :-D I'd just like to say thanks for all the support from all of you over the year, got to admit I really love having this blog it's great to keep up with everyone, and who knows we might meet up one day.

Went for another soaking wet run today - seriously can someone switch the rain off now please, it's unreal. Nothing really to report about the jog.

One thing I did have to smile about today was the news that national security rating has been changed to "severe" from its higher level "critical"... What's the difference? they both sound extreme to me.

PS hello to whoever it was that found my blog by typing into google "Jogger white shirt rain and another cool one "asda waterpistol"

Lardathon™ Day 2 – well my day 2

Well more rain and then some... Went for another solo run (4 miles) today in the wet. I made the mistake of wearing a white cotton t-shirt. Rain + cotton shirt = major rubbing of the nipple area. By the time I got back my t-shirt was crimson :-/ joggers nipple of doom! Be warned.

Food today = 2 Rice cakes and home-made quorn shepherds pie

Lardathon™ Day 1 – well my day 1

Unlike the rest of the 'Lardies' I took Sunday off as my offical no run, eat what you like day.

And what food did you have? I hear you cry. Well we had a lip-smacking Cantonese from the local take away and a 2 pints of cider whilst watching hot fuzz on DVD (well well funny).

So today was the start of Lardathon™ and I kicked it off with a soaking wet 6 miles. I haven't had anything to eat yet, but will post what I do have later.

In other news - I've started to make one of my little sketches into a sculpture - if it turns out ok I'll make a silicon mold and do some resin ones (kind of like designer toys). Have a look over at the work in progress shots - need to do lots of sanding tonight to make it super smooth, let me know what you think.

Food today = 1 packet of walkers french fries (S&V) 90 cals, 1 Rice cake and Chicken salad. I may have a glass of red later.

A post from Preston...

And so it ends…

‘June-a-Thonners’, your leader speaks. Hear his drunken words.

30 days ago a spirit came to me, in the form of a giant land squid, and spoke these sacred words:

‘For thirty days thou must run each day on your feet of toes and heel.
Go forth and spread these words:
All who jog throughout the month of June will truly be the chosen people,
and they will inherit the earth.
And some other cool stuff. Like swing-ball.’

And so I spread this message through the prophet, the Jogger Blogger. And everyday, across the globe, each continent pulsated with the slapping of foot on tarmac.

And now it’s all over, and your swing-ball sets are in the post. All that remains is for me to congratulate you all on the way you have embodied the true spirit of Prestonism in your commitment to running.

Same time next year chaps. Don’t worry though; ‘Naked Running October’ is just around the corner.

Pinch Punch...

First day of the month. No running for me today - Having a non run day before I start Lardathon tomorrow (I know it should start today, but sorry it's a Sunday).

Went up in the loft space this morning because the small person has been nagging to look at some of my old toys. Boy I didn't remember having so much junk! And the worrying part of it is that we only opened 3 bags... eek. To view some of the treasures we uncovered head on over here When my wrist is better (allowing me to actually crawl into the loft I'll snap some more retro toy fun for you all.

I'd just like to say thanks to everyone for joining in Juneathon - It really helped keep me motivated and made me run so much more than I would normally :-D I'm glad everyone else enjoyed it. Roll on (or should it be roll off) Lardathon.
