Last run of the year.

DSCF1907, originally uploaded by jogger164.

Had to go to work today, so got up and went for a pre-work jog. 5 miles was all that I needed and that's all that I did :-P That gives me a total of 160 miles for the month! That's the most miles I've ever done.

Going to take it easy and have a day off. We are having a midnight picnic with the small person and a few cheeky drinks.

Hope everyone has a great New Years... I'll try and pull a new years round up together and post tomorrow.

Cheers all!

PS without clicking the photo above can anyone tell where it was taken ;-)

Look what I made today :-D

It's one of the little girl things I posted a picture of the other day.

The little one has done some as well - i'll post some pictures over on the 'ol Flickr.

Boy got big!

Jinx warming up, originally uploaded by jogger164.

Jinx is growing faster than digby - he has got to be one of the highlights of 2007 :-)

Had a late night last night - we stayed up drinking wine and watching black books. I got the complete DVD collection a while ago (for being a great husband) and hadn't gotten around to re-watching them. Fantastic. If anyone out there hasn't seen them, I recommend getting on down to blockbusters.

Got out early this morning and did 5 miles down the country lanes - dodging the fly tippers latest offerings (Bastards)

December miles = 155 (WHOOHHAA!! 5 to go_

Lemon Pip, originally uploaded by jogger164.

Well I managed to get around to painting the old Lemon Pip, branch and base today - pretty happy how it turned out :-) All I need to do now is put a tear drop on the leaf and job's a good 'un. There's a few more pictures of the little guy over here.

On the running front I got my butt out for a lung buster of an 8 miler (the wind was blowing big time) that leaves me with a cheeky 10 miles tomorrow morning then I can relax for New Years :-) The only thing is I think I'm going to try and maintain the 140-160 miles a month all of next year. I blame Preston and Juneathon, It made me go out everyday - now I NEED to... mumble, mumble.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

December miles = 150 miles (YAH!)

Friday :-D

Prizes :-D, originally uploaded by jogger164.

It's Friday! thank goodness, another weekend off. Started to paint the lemon tonight - mostly done, need to tweak the arms and legs black doesn't suit the model (looked ok in the drawing) so I need to paint them again tomorrow in brown and give them a lick of dry brush - leaves the branch to paint and job nearly done.

I got my proze today for a competition that I entered ages ago and won (it was a custom toy thing) the above is a picture of the booty. 5 fresh figures to paint. Here's the winning design.

Another day and another run... I really wished that I hadn't mentioned doing 160 this month, I had to drag myself out in the pitch black rain to do a 10 miler.

December miles = 142 = 6 miles a day...

Back at work

bee, originally uploaded by jogger164.

We had a great Xmas - down to the folks for some goodtimes and food.

Back home and at work today :-(

2 runs since last post - still trying for 160 this month but my left ankle doesn't love me at the moment. I'm not sure if it's a running related injury or a play fighting one (the small person is getting tough)

Had a go on a Wii yesterday - how cool are they :-) if anyone got one that they didn't want/need let me know.

Have a good one - and those who are still off work have a drink for me.

Cheers.

DSCF2591, originally uploaded by jogger164.

Happy holidays to everyone. We sneaked down south yesterday evening to visit with my Mum and Dad. Did a run as well. Got up early this morning whilst everyone was still sleeping and put in a cheeky 10 miles. Now it's on to the present opening and drinking and eating. Hope everyone has a great time - and Rae fingers crossed that the kids see some snow.

You may remember the little sketch of the lemon that I did a couple of weeks back , well it's for an exhibition called 'Blind collaboration'.

I did the original scamp as a starting point to a piece set for me. Here he is in sculpt form, I've done the branches as well (but haven't taken pictures). I must say I'm quite happy with the way he is coming on.

I will post some more pictures of the finished piece and also the venue for the exhibition if you'd like to come and say hi (it's going to be in London town sometime/where in the newyear.

See ya.

I wished I was one this morning - How cold is it!

Managed a cheeky redfaced 4 miler - then stood in a field watching the small one riding for over an hour...

Saturday running...

Cold, wet, slightly hungover from a late nighter and only wearing shorts and a t-shirt (and trainers) - that was me at 8.00am this morning.

Managed to run 10 miles :-D

Happy Birthday JogBlog. Hope everyone has fun this weekend, only Monday at work then it's Xmas and 2 days off!

Tuesday = 5 miles (busy, busy, busy)

Evil chicken

Evil chicken, originally uploaded by jogger164.

The Sunday running club seems to have died off in the village - a few months ago if I went out for a jog you could guarantee bumping into least 6 other runners. Over the last two days I've not seen any :-( Perhaps they have all achieved running nirvana and no longer need to put the work in.

But as one club shuts another one opens. Sunday morning fly tipping club. Some W*nkers have decided to offload a lorry load of used tyres on our lane - Cheers!

Why?

DSCF2522, originally uploaded by jogger164.

What kind of idiot gets up at 6.30am in the pitch black puts shorts on and a top and goes running? Me! (why did I say I was going to run 160 miles this month) I hate being addicted to running - it makes me do things I shouldn't do.

This morning was cold, about minus four, and I seriously need some new winter gear - all I have are a few jackets, the shorts are just not doing it for me at the moment.

After cursing myself for the first couple of miles I did enjoy the warm glow of my feet as they finally became toasty.

8.5 miles later and my dripping nose told me it was time to stop. I went back out and took a few photos (over on flickr) I do like morning frost and winter in general - just not the minging rain it brings.

December miles = 73 (that's 5.4 miles a day until the end of the month to hit my goal...ekk)

Little Monty Update

DSCF2372, originally uploaded by jogger164.

Well he visited the vets this morning and it looks like the injections have helped him. He has a chest infection, fingers crossed he should get over it. He needs to be fed every hour as he isn't eating on his own at the moment (the breeder is a star for looking after him so well) and hopefully he will start to catch up with his brothers and sisters in size.

On the running front I managed to get out and run 5 miles. I'm really struggling at the moment to stay motivated and get my ass out of the door.

Up and at 'em

devil, originally uploaded by jogger164.

Got up early this morning to carry on the December challenge that I have set myself. It's cold - brrrrrrrrr and the only shorts I could find were my short shorts (not the mega short ones some runners wear - I wouldn't inflict that on anyone).

I managed to drag out a 8 miler around the village. My left knee is tweaking, It may be my trainers (I dug out the new pair I had in the cupboard) - will see how it feels tomorrow.

Had some sad news - Monty had a bad turn in the night and it doesn't look like he is going to make it :-( poor little guy. Fingers crossed he pulls through. We're going to go and visit him later today.

Hope everyone has a good weekend - see ya.

Quick little post today.

Wednesday = Work + 4miles + work then the train to London. Meet up with Jogblog for a few cheeky drinks and some fodder :-)

We had a very enjoyable evening. We will have to arrange a meet up of all the running bloggers sometime soon - it would be good to put faces to blogs.

Thursday = 3 mile run (I really didn’t want to get out of bed at 7 to do this) + training (work related) all day, then the train home. The train broke down and the journey took 4 hours instead of 2.

Friday = Day off work :-D 7 miles in the stinking rain, and we have just watched transformers (if you liked the toys in the 80’s you’ll love it).

Total miles for December = 36 miles (looking good for 160 this month).

Blazing run.

skull_tat, originally uploaded by jogger164.

This lunchtime was a first - 4 other new members to Jogging club. Well for about 3/4 of a mile anyway.

As I ran down by the river I clocked a gang of teenagers enjoying a cheeky lunchtime blunt in the rain. They noticed me running up and started shouting encouragement (yeah right). Once I was level with them 4 of the hoodies started to run along by my side. I thought 'Great here comes hassle' they asked me how far I was running so I said '5 miles' which they replied 'we are going to run it with you'. Joy! But they were ok and didn't hassle me much, but after about 1 minute they had stopped laughing around and talking, by about 4 minutes they looked grim and then slowly stopped. LOL.

Funny thing this running.

Day 3 of getting 40 miles a week done for December and I managed to put in a lovely quick 6 miles. At this rate I should be in credit before the end of the week. Even though it's tough to get out the door at this time of year running is so good for clearing your mind.

Cancer is CRAP update
I haven't blogged in a long time about Dads cancer because as anyone who has had the misfortune of being touched by cancers stinking finger, all you seem to do is wait, wait and then wait some more. After all the operations and months of chemo we had hoped all was well. Apparently not. We are waiting to hear what the full story is and options, but it is just crap! Cancer can just go and F*CK OFF!

Pause to pounce

Pause to pounce, originally uploaded by jogger164.

First day of the month and I started it as I mean to go on, with a run. Man is it cold and windy! I think I left my face somewhere on mile 2. I managed to keep myself going for another 6.

I must admit I hate running at the moment - my lungs hate the cold weather but the addiction to miles keeps me going.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.
